After saying our goodbyes on the Provo Temple grounds, the kids walked hand in hand to take Elder Jenson to the MTC. Our dropoff time was 12:55 pm today.
Before we dropped Tanner off, we found a secluded area underneath a large ponderosa pine to say our goodbyes to Tanner, bear our testimonies to him and sang "I hope they call me on a mission", "I Love to See the Temple" and "Families Can Be Together Forever". It was a powerful, spiritual, sacred time with just our family in the last 30 minutes before Tanner entered the MTC.
Until about a year ago, this used to say "Missionary Training Center"; however, it was causing too much hazard at this intersection, so they removed the sign and put in a flower garden. Can't come to the MTC and not have a photo in front of it!
Elder Campbell greeted Elder Jenson and helped him unload his luggage and began welcoming Elder Jenson to the MTC and helped him take his first steps into the MTC. Tanner was so happy and excited to finally begin his mission to serve the Lord and the Chilean people.

A Magical Day at Temple Square
Our family enjoying the beautiful Temple Square grounds with the Salt Lake Temple in the background.
Being an ambassador of Jesus Christ, he will take His word and bring the world His truth!
That's where I'll be mom!
During our visit, we ran into a Chilean sister missionary from Santiago, Chile!!! Hermana Parra-Torrejon. She was the nicest, sweetest, purest sister missionary and told us how incredibly awesome Chile is and the city of Santiago. Notice the chilean flag below her nametag matches the flag on the lower part of Tanner's tie! WOW! Something was meant to be! We were able to watch Tanner hold his first spanish conversation with a chilean right before our eyes! IT WAS AWESOME!!! I felt an inner peace that Tanner was going to be safe and well taken care of in Chile.
Families can be together forever. Trevor and I were married here and took photographs here with thoughts and visions of what our family might become and what a special treat to bring our whole family back to those same doors and touch the temple together and feel the desires to be together in heaven as a forever family truly increased our family bonds yesterday, May, 29th, 2012.

One day until the MTC!
24 Hours until the MTC Dropoff!!!
We had a wonderful weekend full of love and support from many friends and family. Thank you so much for sharing this special occasion with Tanner as he begins his service as a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Some of the highlights of this weekend were spending time with family and friends in our home, his farewell talk in Sacrament meeting, his setting apart by President Dale Lyman, special Family Home Evening where Trevor showed a life sketch of Tanner which ended with a clip of him opening his mission call and two receptions on Sunday with many of you that came that are now reading this update.
We're now in Provo in the last 24 hours before we drop Tanner off at the Missionary Training Center which is Wednesday, 5/30/12 at 12:55 pm MDT. We are headed right now to Temple Square in Salt Lake City for some family time and bowling later, one of Tanner's favorite things to do!
